Susy Atkins is a well-known, award-winning drinks writer and author/editor of 11 books on wine and drinks. She is a long-standing wine and drinks columnist for the Telegraph and has contributed to many other publications including Delicious and Decanter. For over 12 years she was a regular wine expert on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen.
Since winning the International Wine and Spirit Competition’s ‘Communicator of the Year’, Susy has received many accolades for her wine writing and presenting including a Champagne Louis Roederer International Wine Writer’s Award and Rioja Communicator of the Year.
Susy originally fell in love with wine through the arrival of New World styles from Australia, New Zealand and Chile and she remains keen to write about the latest wine discoveries including those from nearer home (Devon in her case!). She is an English wine specialist and chairs the annual judging panels of the Independent English Wine Awards and the Wine GB West Awards
A Three Wine Men expert since 2018, Susy has hosted many TWM tastings online and in person, including those of the wines of Chile and Spain (Rueda and Navarra) and she will continue to share her extensive wine wisdom at Wine Alive in 2025!
