Not sure how an online tasting works or what happens at a wine festival? Hopefully we’ve got your query covered here. If there is a question we still haven’t answered get in touch at hello@wine-alive.com
Wine festival FAQs
Yes. Once you arrive at the tasting you can taste as many wines as you wish. However, we urge all visitors to taste responsibly and use the spittoons provided.
Each event is split into tasting sessions to ensure that you can taste a wide variety of wines. The sessions are three hours long and your ticket will give you access to one session – check the timings and we’ll see you there. A separate ticket is needed for each session and each masterclass. It is unlikely you will want to attend more than one tasting session but you may like to attend multiple masterclasses.
Contact us at hello@wine-alive.com. If you can't attend the session you have booked, we may be able to change your tasting session time or date if we have availability at another tasting session. However, this change must take place at least 24 hours before the start of the event.
Why not share the love? Who else in you life would love tickets for a WineAlive wine festival? Just add extra tickets to your order and give them to the lucky recipients. We will have a list of all the purchasers at the reception desk so don't worry if it is not the ticket purchaser attending the event – just give them the ticket and they will be welcomed in.
You are welcome to purchase as many tickets as you like.
When you buy your tickets from Eventbrite you’ll get a confirmation email immediately. This contains a QR code which we will scan on arrival and swap for a wristband to give you access to the event.
In the event that you are not able to attend our live wine festivals and masterclasses we will offer you a refund on tickets up to 30 days before the event. WineAlive charges a £5 administration fee for every ticket refunded. Alternatively, you may pass your ticket to a friend to use in your place (providing, of course, that they are over 18 years of age). Please email hello@wine-alive.com if for any reason you need a refund on your ticket(s).
Contact us at hello@wine-alive.com. If you can't attend the session you have booked, we may be able to change you session time or date. Equally you are welcome to pass your ticket to a friend or colleague.
All our venues have good disabled access. If you have any queries about access at specific venues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at hello@wine-alive.com and we’ll work with you to make it work for you.
There are many spittoons placed around the tasting room and we ask you to use them. Table top spittoons are laid out for the masterclasses. There are also water stations with copious quantities of water and we encourage you to stay hydrated. We are keen that everyone enjoys themselves but we urge everyone to sip splendidly and taste responsibly. For more information please visit drinkaware.co.uk. We reserve the right to refuse alcohol to anyone who we feel has over-imbibed.
Since there is alcohol being served we do not permit access to anyone under the age of 18. This includes no access for buggies or babes in arms.
Online wine tasting FAQs
The online tasting will be hosted on Zoom. When you book a place on an online tasting you will receive a tasting pack of 6 x 100ml tasting samples (all six samples (inc. P&P) are included in the ticket price).
The tasting samples are delivered to your door to arrive a few days before the tasting (mainland UK only). The Zoom invitation with a link is emailed to you 24 hours before the tasting using the email address used to process your purchase. Your access code is unique to your device, therefore, anyone not visible on our list of purchasers will not be allowed to enter the tasting.
You’re then ready to enjoy an evening of wine exploration.
If you have any other queries about the online tasting please email hello@wine-alive.com
We send the tasting packs by Royal Mail 48 hour delivery from the lovely team at Online Wine Tasting Club. We aim for them to arrive 3-5 days before the tasting. The pack should fit through your letterbox and will contain 6 x 100ml tasting samples, packed using ecoSIP, the world’s lightest high-performance drinks packaging for single serve samples.
No, they are designed to fit through your letterbox. If preferred, when you book you can provide details of a safe place for the delivery to be left.
The ecoSIP packaging should keep your wine in optimum condition for up to six months of storage at room temperature.
We confirm the delivery day well in advance of the tasting but if your wines haven't arrived by then, please get in touch at hello@wine-alive.com
You don't need any special equipment but each wine is best tasted from a clean wine glass. You don’t even need a corkscrew - just cut the corner off the ecoSIP pouch to pour. We suggest that you put the wines in the fridge when you receive them and then bring the reds out prior to the tasting to get to room temperature. Remember to keep the whites and rosés chilled.
You'll be sent a link via Eventbrite to click on to join the webinar – simple!
It's always worth checking that the email confirming your booking hasn't gone into your spam or junk folder.
You can also log into your Eventbrite account to view your ticket order.
If you are having trouble accessing link get in touch at hello@wine-alive.com
Absolutely! The tasting is hosted as a Zoom webinar (so we won't see you on screen), but you can put questions or comments for the expert host and guests in the chat function on Zoom during the online tasting. Or you can send questions in advance by emailing us at hello@wine-alive.com with 'Question for:' and the name of the tasting in the subject line. We cannot guarantee all questions will get answered but we will try!
No problem - you can book to receive a tasting pack and we will send you a recording of the tasting to view at a time convenient to you.
We provide RRPs and stockist details for all wines available in the UK so that you can seek them out and enjoy them after the tasting.
Unfortunately we cannot send tasting packs outside the UK mainland. However, you can buy online access only and watch the tasting and join in the chat.
Unfortunately we don’t offer any refunds once an online tasting pack has been booked as each tasting pack is produced individually.
Masterclass FAQs
Yes - to attend a masterclass you must already have purchased a main tasting ticket. You will need a separate ticket for each masterclass you attend. You can attend as many masterclasses as you wish in your 'tasting session’ and each is designed to last 35 minutes so there is plenty of time to taste in the walk around tasting too.
No need – when you buy your tickets from Eventbrite you’ll get a confirmation email immediately. This contains a QR code which we will scan when you arrive in the masterclass tasting area to give you access.
If you would like to change the masterclass you have booked to a different one please contact us at hello@wine-alive.com and if we have availability in the one you wish to attend we will swap your ticket.
Do come and ask at reception if there are any masterclass tickets available. However, they do sell out quickly so booking ahead is advised.
