Wine festival FAQs

Yes. Once you arrive at the tasting you can taste as many wines as you wish. However, we urge all visitors to taste responsibly and use the spittoons provided.

Each event is split into tasting sessions to ensure that you can taste a wide variety of wines. The sessions are three hours long and your ticket will give you access to one session – check the timings and we’ll see you there.  A separate ticket is needed for each session and each masterclass.  It is unlikely you will want to attend more than one tasting session but you may like to attend multiple masterclasses.

Contact us at hello@wine-alive.com. If you can't attend the session you have booked, we may be able to change your tasting session time or date if we have availability at another tasting session.  However, this change must take place at least 24 hours before the start of the event.

Why not share the love? Who else in you life would love tickets for a WineAlive wine festival? Just add extra tickets to your order and give them to the lucky recipients. We will have a list of all the purchasers at the reception desk so don't worry if it is not the ticket purchaser attending the event – just give them the ticket and they will be welcomed in.

You are welcome to purchase as many tickets as you like.

When you buy your tickets from Eventbrite you’ll get a confirmation email immediately.  This contains a QR code which we will scan on arrival and swap for a wristband to give you access to the event.

In the event that you are not able to attend our live wine festivals and masterclasses we will offer you a refund on tickets up to 30 days before the event.  WineAlive charges a £5 administration fee for every ticket refunded.  Alternatively, you may pass your ticket to a friend to use in your place (providing, of course, that they are over 18 years of age). Please email hello@wine-alive.com if for any reason you need a refund on your ticket(s).

Contact us at hello@wine-alive.com. If you can't attend the session you have booked, we may be able to change you session time or date. Equally you are welcome to pass your ticket to a friend or colleague.

All our venues have good disabled access. If you have any queries about access at specific venues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at hello@wine-alive.com and we’ll work with you to make it work for you.

There are many spittoons placed around the tasting room and we ask you to use them.  Table top spittoons are laid out for the masterclasses. There are also water stations with copious quantities of water and we encourage you to stay hydrated. We are keen that everyone enjoys themselves but we urge everyone to sip splendidly and taste responsibly. For more information please visit drinkaware.co.uk.  We reserve the right to refuse alcohol to anyone who we feel has over-imbibed.

Since there is alcohol being served we do not permit access to anyone under the age of 18. This includes no access for buggies or babes in arms.

Past Events

Big Christmas Wine festival goers of London, in 2024 1,500 of you delighted us with your wine enthusiasm as you flocked to taste with us at  Lindley Hall.

You swirled and sipped splendidly, stopping to gather recommendations from Tim Atkin MW, to fall in love with a bottle with Luma Monteiro, gain insider knowledge from Olly Smith or take in a masterclass with Oz Clarke and to get a signed copy of Tom Surgey’s How to Drink Wine from the man himself.

Under the stunning, glass vaulted roof you were able to explore a curated selection of wines from Argentina, Australia, France, Champagne, Italy, Spain, USA, Chile, South Africa and New Zealand and ask the winemakers about the wine style and how the wine was made. You may have discovered new wines from regions including Lebanon, Ukraine, Slovakia and England. You tried spirits too – whisky, gin, vodka and rum, as well as non-alcoholic alternatives such as sparkling tea.

You caught up with London’s online Little Fine Wine Company, Majestic Wines, Wickham Wines and discussed the art of blind tasting with the The Blind Wine Co.

Some of you shrewdly took up show offers for money off the favourite wines you’d discovered and had the wines delivered to you.

London wine lovers, we can’t wait to welcome you back!

From a calm corner of Linley Hall, Olly Smith took London Masterclass attendees on a global fizz adventure! Tasting through six styles of sparkling wine – English Sparkling, Champagne, Cap Classique, Cava, Prosecco, and Crémant de Limoux –

Olly explained the general differences in fermentation methods, explained what effect the various grape varieties had on the taste and, as you’d expect from BBC’s Saturday Kitchen expert, what food and occasion would make these sparklers shine.

On a cold London day Tim Atkin MW transported wine enthusiasts to the warmth of Southern Italy to explore the sustainable wines of Santa Tresa, made by brother and sister Stefano and Marina Girelli on their organic estate in Vittoria, South-Eastern Sicily.

Tim’s selection included a range of elegant, approachable, typically Sicilian styles wines made from indigenous grape varieties Frappato, Grillo, Inzolia, Zibbibo and Nero d’Avola.
